Port Saint John Donates To Food Bank

Saint John, NB, January 8, 2024 - The Saint John Community Food Basket is pleased to announce a recent donation.

This week, representatives from Port Saint John dropped into the Food Basket with two generous donations raised from Port Days 2023 and the Port's general funds.

The donations will assist Food Basket clients in 2024.

Port Saint John supports dozens of charities and non-profits through donations and volunteer hours from its employees, focusing on charities providing basic needs to children and families in neighbourhoods surrounding the harbour. In addition, they partner with CBC Information Morning to carry out the Harbour Lights Campaign, which has raised more than $3.5 million for 16 food banks in Southern New Brunswick.

The Saint John Community Food Basket serves the uptown and South End communities. In 2023, the charity distributed food to 6,030 adults and 2,238 children.

The Board of Directors and staff of the Saint John Community Food Basket thanks the staff of Port Saint John for their continued support.
